Forget Me Not

A couple days ago I had the opportunity to watch the 2011 General Relief Society broadcast with my mom.
(Everything is always more fun with her.)
I have always loved conference, but this year I have seemed to need it more then ever.
I love receiving direction, inspiration, and insight from the ordained leaders of our church.
President Uchtdorf gave an uplifting talk reminding us sisters of five things to "forget not."

Using the forget-me-not flower as a metaphor for his remarks, President Uchtdorf noted that "Although the flower is small in size, and easily unnoticed among larger flowers, it is still beautiful and vibrant."

He urged us not to forget the following:

  • forget not to be patient with yourself
  • forget not that difference between good sacrifice and foolish sacrifice
  • forget not to be happy now
  • forget not the why of the gospel
  • forget not that the lord loves you

Here is a link to the whole talk.
Take the time to take a listen.
I like to have talks playing while I am on the computer or doing some editing.
This talk really made me stop and rethink my day to day life and how I can remember to be happy now and really live my life in the present.

I love the quotes- “No matter how dark your days may seem, no matter how insignificant you may feel, no matter how overshadowed you think you may be, your Heavenly Father has not forgotten you. In fact, He loves you, with an infinite love.”

“You may at times feel a little like the forget-me-not—insignificant, small, or tiny in comparison with others. But I hope the forget-me-not will be a symbol of the little things that make your lives joyful and sweet.”

I can't wait for this weekend to watch all of General Conference.
It will be a weekend filled with uplifting talks, family time, and homemade cinnamon rolls...lots of them!
Conference is Saturday and Sunday on Channel  31  or  KBYU 361.
There are four sessions on at 9am and 1pm both days.
Can't wait :)
