Holiday Fun

Christmas came and went.
How is it already January? Or 2012 for that matter?
We have been having so much fun I have hardly had time to get on the computer.
We had such a lovely Christmas filled with family, friends and food...lots of it.
I can't believe it was Jack's Second Christmas!
He is growing up so fast.
I am in love with this age though.
It is so much fun.
Everything is so magical through the eyes of a 1 1/2 year old and it is so sweet to watch him experience new things.
He loved helping me put up the Christmas tree.
His favorite ornament was a little Minnie Mouse one that April (Ethan's Fiance) gave us last year.
Every night when I took him to bed he would lay his head on my shoulder and as I would walk up the stairs, passed the tree he would say, "Night Night Minnie.....night night Zoe Zoe (his new baby cousin who he is obsessed with)." He is a sweetheart.
Christmas eve was as wonderful as always.
We had the grand-kids (and by grand kids I mean Brandon with Cohen and Jack tailing behind) go on a little scavenger hunt around the house that ended with a treat and led to a story about the Nativity.
We shared feelings of the Savior and really felt the spirit.
But along with the true meaning of Christmas we also had some laughs....
Matt found this Lord of the Rings pez collection and knew he had to do something funny with them incorporating his brothers.

So, he assigned a character to each of his family members and we Photoshopped their faces onto the character and Matt explained why they were that character. (Some where self explanatory haha)
And since I have gotten requests to post them here are a few funny ones...

Jeff as Legolas

Kevin as Gandalf

Greg as Gimli

Nate as Gollum...of course.

We all had a good laugh.
Then laughed more with a Jib-Jab elf dance movie.
The Steeles are definitely a fun crowd.
So after an amazing dinner and a wonderful program we headed back home to get ready for ol' St. Nick's visit.
Santa did not disappoint this year either.
Jack got a tent in the shape of a car and he wouldn't come out of it.
We had to bring the presents inside to open haha.

Santa was also pretty nice to the Lady of the house ;)
And wow what a difference an L series lens can make.
I was torn between getting a lens and the Mark 5dii but now that I have this I couldn't be happier.
I would highly recommend investing in high quality lenses before upgrading your sensor.
They keep their value longer and can really change a middle of the road sensor to a spectacular one!
After all the excitement of the morning we got our church clothes on and headed to my parents ward.
Jack wore his little newsie outfit. I loved it.
After Church we opened presents at the Steeles.
Jack got the cutest little chair and his new favorite doggy friend.
And here he is posing with them.
His great grandpa made him this pull along dog and he LOVES it!
Such a sweet and special gift.
Everyone had a good time.
After that we headed to my parents and did presents there and had another amazing dinner.
I am pretty sure I gained 5 lbs over the break.
I love that Jack's presents were bigger then him.
He is one lucky boy.
Grandma and Grandpa Hunsaker got him a fun push car (can you tell he is all about cars).
The aftermath of Christmas was pretty comical.
This room, which is quite large, looks tiny since it is packed full of fun for Jack.
We are soo lucky to have such an amazing family.
I love them so much and am sad to leave them behind while we take our adventure to the south.
But it will be that much more fun when we visit!
Love you guys :)
